The uranium-zirconium hydride pulsed reactor and its use in science and technology

The performance of the first Chinese pulsed reactor is described briefly. The second reactor being built in China has a large prompt negative temperature coefficient of reactivity and uses uranium-zirconium hydride alloy as fuel element. Therefore its most outstanding features are its ‘inherent safety’ fairly high pulsed power capacity. The pulsed reactor is now widely used in science and technology.
