Abstract :
In order to investigate the effect of gibberlic acid on reducing salt stress effects in growth and germination stage of wheat seed Arg cultivar, the experiment was carried out as factorial based on completely randomized design with four replicates in laboratory of Agronomy and Plant Breeding, agricultural department, Islamic Azad University, Varamin-Pishva branch in 2012. The first factor was four levels of salinity (3.78, 5.95, 10.25 and 12.87 ds/m) and the second was four levels of gibberlic acid (GA3) hormone (0, 100, 150 and 200 mg/l). Coleoptile and cleorhiza length, cleorhiza number, coleoptile and cleorhiza dry weight, germination percent and number of damaged seeds were measured. The results showed the significant difference among main factor of salinity and hormone, salinity× hormone for coleoptile and cleorhiza length, cleorhiza number and cleorhiza dry weight at 1% of probability level. Following increasing salinity, coleoptile and cleorhiza length, and cleorhiza number reduced significantly. Also, the results indicated that application of hormone in salinity stress had no effect on other properties.
