Abstract :
In order to study the allelopathic effects of cover crops on germination and seedling growth of maize, a factorial experiment based on a randomized complete design with 4 replications was carried out. The results showed that cover crops extract led to significant effects on radicle length, seedling dry weight, germination rate and ratio of radicle per hypocotyl length. Concentration of water extracts had a significant difference in germination rate, germination percentage and ratio of radicle per hypocotyl length. According to this research the highest inhibition in germination and seedling growth of maize was in concentrated extract of rye and oat.
