Abstract :
Character association and path analysis were performed for safflowergenotypes using a randomized complete block design with four replications.Three genotypes were studied under irrigation (normal irrigation) and rainfed conditions. Under irrigation and rainfed condition the relation of seed yield and two traits capitula diameter and number of seed per capitula were positive significantly; under irrigation condition the relation between seed yield and oil percent was negative significantly. Under irrigation the most direct effect of traits on seed yield was obtained from capitula diameter followed the 100-seed weight. The most indirect effect of traits on yield was obtained from oil percent through capitula diameter. Under rainfed condition the most direct of traits on yield was obtained from number of capitula per plant followed oil percent. Also, the most indirect effect of traits on yield was obtained from 100-seed weight through number of capitula per plant.
