Application of natural approach to non-linear analysis of sandwich and composite plates and shells Original Research Article

The natural approach is used to construct a curved triangular shell element for analysis of sandwich and composite shells. The shells can be either symmetric or unsymmetric and the in-plane shear relation can be linear or non-linear. The attention is centered on the transverse shear treatment, the local rigid movement representation and the development of the geometrical stiffness matrix.
