Abstract
This paper presents a comparison of recently developed four higher-order bounded convection schemes SOUCUP, HLPA, SMARTER and LPPA which employ different characteristics in a normalized variable diagram. All the schemes are formulated on a non-uniform, non-orthogonal grid and their relative performances are compared through applications to the several test problems. The results of numerical experiments show that all the tested bounded schemes resolve the boundedness problem retaining the accuracy of the higher-order scheme. The HLPA, SMARTER and LPPA schemes result in nearly the same solution behaviours and the SOUCUP scheme is shown to be relatively more diffusive than the other three bounded schemes.
