Solitary wave solutions of the MKdV− equation Original Research Article

A new numerical solution to the Modified Korteweg-deVries minus equation is obtained using a ‘lumped’ Galerkin method with quadratic B-spline finite elements. The motion, interaction and generation of solitary waves are studied using the method. New results concerning the decay of quasi-soliton initial conditions are given.
