Abstract
Basic concepts of the stochastic boundary element computational methodology are presented. Stochastic boundary integral equations are discretized into a system of random algebraic equations using the midpoint and the boundary averaging methods. The influence of the chosen boundary mesh geometry on covariances is tested. Applications of stochastic boundary elements to static and dynamic problems with random boundary conditions, stochastic media, stochastic sensitivity analysis and identification of internal defects are presented.
