Treatment of turbulent wall boundary conditions using linear-logarithmic elements Original Research Article

In the present paper special wall elements are introduced in order to implement near-wall boundary conditions accurately. These linear-logarithmic wall elements allow a no-slip wall condition with less resolution requirements than would else be the case. This approach is combined with a modified two-layer turbulence model, and applications to some two-dimensional cases are shown to illustrate the potential of the method.
