Abstract :
In this paper we obtain an indirect boundary integral method for the problem of the Stokes flow generated by the slow motion of a cylindrical solid particle in a viscous incompressible fluid bounded by two plane walls. The problem is formulated exactly as a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind. We also prove the existence and uniqueness result of solution of this equation that is used as the basis of a numerical model that uses a standard boundary element method. The numerical results are presented in the case of a circular obstacle when it translates parallel or normal to the walls.
