Abstract
A velocity decomposition least squares method is reexamined and the results of several test cases are presented. All the present calculations are based on linear triangular elements, with a new treatment of boundary conditions. For high Reynolds number flows, second-order upwind schemes are adopted and the Lanczos method is applied to accelerate the convergence of the iterative scheme which is based on the symmetric Gauss–Seidel algorithm. Extension to unsteady flows is also presented.
