Abstract :
Thecohesivefractureprocesszonemodelwasusedtoaccountfortheneutronirradiationembrittlementofapressurevesselsteel.Thetensiletestingandfractureofaxisymmetricallynotchedroundspecimenswerenumericallymodelledassumingarectangulartractionseparationlawandtheirradiationeffectswereintroducedbyduemodificationofthislaw.Theresultscorroboratethoseoftheexperimentsperformedinapreviouswork.Thecohesivestrengthandthecohesiveenergyofthecohesivemodelwerenotconsideredasadjustingparameters,buttheyweredeterminedfromthedataofconventionaltensiletestsandfracturetoughnesstestsontheassumptionthatthefailureofthespecimensinthesetestsalsofollowsthecohesivemodel.
