  • Abstract
    Anewthermaltracingtechniqueispresentedforthemeasurementofenthalpyinterchangebetweenconnectedsubchannelsinone-phaseaxialflow.Themethodissimpleandversatile,beingcapableofimplementationoncompactandnon-homogeneousbundlesusingwaterasfluid.Topresentthetechnique,measurementsofturbulentmixingwereperformedonatriangulararraybundlewitharelationofpitchtodiameterof1.33,atReynoldsnumbersbetween104and6.8×104.Forthissimplearrangementtheprecisionofthemethodisdiscussedshowingthataccuraciesbetterthan10%canbereadilyachieved.Measurementsarealsoperformedinpresenceofamixingvaneshowinganotherfieldwerethemethodcanbeadvantageouslyapplied.
