  • Abstract
    ImprovedloadfollowingcapabilityisoneofthemaintechnicalperformancesofadvancedPWR(APWR).Controllingthenuclearreactorcoreduringloadfollowingoperationencounterssomedifficulties.Thesedifficultiesmainlyarisefromnuclearreactorcorelimitationsinlocalpowerpeaking,whilethecoreissubjecttolargeandsharpvariationoflocalpowerdensityduringtransients.Axialoffset(AO)istheparameterusuallyusedtorepresentofcorepowerpeaking,informofapracticalparameter.Thispaper,proposesanewintelligentapproachtoAOcontrolofPWRnuclearreactorscoreduringloadfollowingoperation.Thismethodusesaneuralnetworkmodelofthecoretopredictthedynamicbehaviorofthecoreandafuzzycriticbasedontheoperatorknowledgeandexperienceforthepurposeofdecision-makingduringloadfollowingoperations.Simulationresultsshowthatthismethodcanuseoptimumcontrolrodgroupsmaneuverwithvariableoverlappingandmayimprovethereactorloadfollowingcapability.
