Abstract
Quasi3-Dmeasurementsoftheturbulencestructureofair–waterbubblyflowinahorizontaltubewith35mmi.d.areundertakenwithtwoTSI“X”-typehot-filmprobes.Theturbulentfluctuations,uf,vf,wf,inaxial,radialandcircumferentialdirections,respectively,andReynoldsstresses−uvand−uwareobtained.Itisfoundthatinthelowerportionofthetube,theprofilesofturbulentfluctuationandReynoldsstressresemblethoseofsinglephaseflow;whereasintheupperportionofthetube,wherethebubblepopulationishigh,theturbulence,especiallythecircumferentialfluctuationwf,issubstantiallyenhanced,andtheradialturbulenceassumeshighestvalueintheradialposition−0.7
