Abstract :
Inthiswork,thethermalpropertiesofepoxycoatingsystemoncarbonsteellinerinanatomicreactorcontainerhavebeeninvestigatedintermsofirradiationanddesignbasisaccident(DBA)conditions.Twoepoxycoatingsystemswereirradiatedbydifferentdoserates,i.e.1×106and5×105rad/hinatotaldosageof2×108rad/h.And,DBAtestswereappliedtothembasedonthespecification.Theglasstransitiontemperature(Tg)andthermalstabilityoftheepoxycoatingsystemsaftertestsweremeasuredbydifferentialscanningcalorimetry(DSC)andthermogravimetricanalysis(TGA),respectively.Asaresult,theirradiationledtothefractureofinternalstructureincuredepoxysystems,resultinginsignificantlydecreasingthethermalstability,aswellas,theTg.Also,thehigherdoseratemadearelaxationofepoxyresinstoreducethehardeningofthenetworksystem.Whereas,theDBAtestmadeanimportantroleinthethermalstabilityintheepoxycoatingsystems,resultinginpost-curingoftheuncuredepoxyresins.Consequently,itcouldbefoundthatthethermalpropertiesoftheepoxycoatingsystemweregreatlyinfluencedontheirradiationandDBAtests,whichwereprobablyduetothemodificationofinternalnetworkstructureoftheepoxyresins.
