Abstract :
Atestwasperformedtoinvestigatetheeffectofconcretecracksonthestaticbehaviorofsleeve-typeexpansionanchors,andtoconfirmtheseismicandfatigueresistancecapabilityincrackedconcrete.Thetensileandsheartestwasconductedonsingleanchorswiththreedifferentanchordiameters.Concretetestspecimensaresufficientlylargetopreventtheeffectoftheconcreteedgesontheanchorbehavior.Thetypesoffailure,thestaticstrengthanddisplacementbehavioroftheanchorsinuncrackedandcrackedconcretewerecomparedtoevaluatetheeffectofthecracks.ThestrengthreductionrateoftheanchorsduetothecrackswasexhibitedalmostlessthanthecorrespondingvaluespecifiedinACI349-01,APP.B.Throughtheresidualstrengthtests,theseismicandfatigueresistancecapabilityoftheanchorswasconfirmedincrackedconcrete.Thecharacteristicsoftheanchorshearcapacitysignificantlyvarywithhowthedisplacementfailurecriteriaaredetermined.
