Abstract :
Thelinear-elasticseismicanalysisforthevesselofaheavy-liquid-metalreactorwasundertakenbasedontheDesignResponseSpectrum(DRS)approachandfora0.5gearthquake.Foursupporttypesforthevesselwereanalyzedanditwasfoundthattherollsupportexhibitsthebestoverallperformance.Thevariationofthenormal-modefrequencyandtotalpeakstressintensitywiththevesseldiameterandthicknesswasalsostudied.Itwasfoundthatthefrequencyofthefirstnormalmodeincreaseswithincreasingvesseldiameterandthickness,whilethetotalpeakstressintensitydecreaseswithincreasingvesselthicknessandisroughlyindependentofthevesseldiameter.Twonewdimensionlessgroupsareintroducedthatenablecorrelationofthefrequencyandstress-intensitydatawithadequateaccuracy.Itisproposedthatthesecorrelationsbeusedforquickestimateoftheseismicresponseofavesselofarbitrarysize,materialandcontained(heavy)fluid,subjecttoanearthquakeofarbitrarymagnitude.
