Abstract :
Thisliteraturesurveyisdevotedtotheproblemofheattransferoffluidsatsupercriticalpressuresincludingnearcriticalregion.
Theobjectivesaretoassesstheworkthatwasdoneintheareaofheattransferatsupercriticalpressures,tounderstandthespecificsofheattransferattheseconditions,tocomparedifferentpredictionmethodsforsupercriticalheattransferintubesandbundles,andtochoosethemostreliableones.
Thecomparisonsshowedthereisasignificantdifferenceinheattransfercoefficientvaluescalculatedaccordingtovariouscorrelations.Onlysomecorrelationsshowsimilarresults,whicharequiteclosetotheexperimentaldatafornormalsupercriticalheattransferinwaterandcarbondioxide.Also,noonecorrelationcanaccuratelypredictthemagnitudeandonsetofdeterioratedheattransfer.
Theexhaustiveliteraturesearch,whichincludedhundredsofpapers,showedthatthemajorityofcorrelationswereobtainedintubesandjustfewoftheminotherflowgeometriesincludingbundles.
Thevariationsinthepredictionofsupercriticalheattransferarerelatedtothesignificantchangesinthermophysicalpropertiesnearthecriticalandpseudocriticalpoints.Therefore,adiscussiononthegeneraltrendsofvariousthermophysicalpropertiesatnearcriticalandpseudocriticalpointsisalsoincluded.
Basedonseveralchosencorrelations,theheattransfercoefficientsandtemperatureprofilesintheCANDU-Xreactorcooledwithsupercriticalwaterwerecalculated.
