Abstract :
LoosePartsMonitoringsignalsinthecontrolroomofthenuclearpowerplantcomeinthroughmultiplechannelsandarepresentedasgraphsonthedisplaydevices.Itinvolvesalengthyandcomplicatedprocesstodeterminethesize,mass,speed,andimpactlocationoftheloosepartwhenthesignalsarecollectedandprocessed.Inthiswork,asimpleandefficientmodelfordeterminingtheimpactlocationoftheloosepartusingtheLeast-Sum-of-Square-Errors(LSSEs)methodcombinedwithiterationhasbeendevelopedbasedonthephasedistortionoftheimpactsignalenvelopes.Thesignalpeakpointshiftstotherightonthetimeaxiswhenthesensorislocatedfartherawayfromtheimpactlocation.Thismethodprovidesagoodestimationoftheimpactlocationandcanbeusedasanalternativetoexistingcalculationsbasedonotherattributesoftheimpactingsignal.ToautomatethebackendportionoftheLPMSalgorithm,interpolationwasusedforcompensatingtheimpactattenuationeffectandlog-logregressionwasalsoemployedtodeterminetheimpactingpartsizeandimpactvelocity,andtheresultturnedouttobewellinlinewiththemanualcalculations.TheautomatedalgorithmwillimprovetheefficiencyoftheLPMSsoftware.
