Abstract
Experimentalstudieswerecarriedouttoconfirmthestructuralintegrityofthekeyhightemperaturecomponents,whicharenecessarytocommercializetheHTGR,thatis,anintermediateheatexchanger(IHX)andacoaxialhotgasduct.AsfortheIHX,thefollowingtestswereconducted:(1)creepcollapseoftubeagainstexternalpressure,(2)creepfatigueoftubeagainstthermalstress,(3)seismicbehavioroftubebundles,(4)thermalhydraulicbehavioroftubebundlesand(5)in-serviceinspectiontechnologyoftubewithfull-scalemodels.Asforthecoaxialhotgasduct,thethermalinsulationperformanceaswellasthestructuralintegritywasinvestigatedwiththeHENDEL-loop.
