  • Abstract
    Athermal–hydraulicsystemcodeforsimulators,RELAPSIM,wasdevelopedatNSSEbasedonRELAP5.Thedevelopmentprocedureconsistsofthreemajorparts.Firstly,timecontrolfunctionwasaddedintothecodetomeetreal-timecalculationneeds.Secondly,controlleddynamicdatacommunicationwasimproved,sothatthermal–hydraulicparameterscanbeeasilymodifiedforfurtherapplications.Finally,functionscontrollingthecomputationprocedurewereembeddedtoachieveafullcapabilitytosimulatemultipleoperations,suchasstart-up,shuttingdownorfreeze.Thispaperdescribesthemainfeaturesofthenewcode.Theresultsofcodeassessmentandcodeapplicationarepresentedanddiscussed.
