Abstract
Wepresentanalyticalresultsforstablestratifiedwavytwo-phaseflowandfunctionalformsforthevariousinterfacialforcedensitiesinatwo-fluidmodel.Inparticular,wehavederivedanalyticallythecomponentsofthenon-draginterfacialforcedensity[Drew,D.A.,Passman,S.L.,1998.TheoryofMulticomponentFluids.Springer-Verlag,NewYork;Nigmatulin,T.R.,Drew,D.A.,Lahey,R.T.,Jr.,2000.Ananalysisofwavyannularflow.In:InternationalConferenceonMultiphaseSystems,ICMS’2000,Ufa,Russia,June15–17],Reynoldsstresstensor,andtheterm,image,whereimageisinterfacialaveragepressure,imagetheaveragepressure,andαclisthevolumefractionofthecontinuousliquidphase.
Thesefunctionalformsshouldbeusefulforassessingtwo-fluidclosurerelationsandComputationalMultiphaseFluidDynamics(CMFD)numericalmodelsforstratifiedwavyflows.Moreover,itappearsthatthisapproachcanbegeneralizedtootherflowregimes(e.g.,annularflows).
