Abstract
Accordingtoplantoperatingstaffʹspracticalneeds,authorsproposedadiagnosismodeltoidentifytheperformancedegradationofsteamturbinecyclesinnuclearpowerplants(NPPs).Theessentialideaofthisstudyishowtoidentifytheintrinsicallydegradedcomponentwhichcauseselectricloss.AuthorsfoundthattherewerenotsomanyturbinecyclediagnosisapplicationsinNPPscurrentlybecauseoftechnical,financial,orsocialcharacteristicsoftheplant.Soagreatpartofthediagnosishasbeendependentonoperatingstaffʹsexperienceandknowledge.Howeveraseconomiccompetitionbecomessevere,theefficiencystaffsisaskingforreliableandpracticaladvisorytools.Forthesolutionoftheseshortcomings,authorsproposedasimpleandintuitivediagnosisconceptbasedonthesuperpositionruleofdegradationphenomena,whichcanbederivedbysimplealgebraandcorrelationanalysis.Thoughthesuperpositionruleisnotsosignificantstatistically,almostalloftheperformanceindicesundernormaloperationarefairlycompatiblewiththismodel.Authorsdevelopedaprototypemodelofquantitativeroot-causediagnosisandvalidatedthebackgroundtheoryusingthesimulateddata.TheturbinecycleadvisorysystemusingthismodelwasappliedtoGoriNPPunits3&4.
