Abstract :
Corrosioninahighpurityaqueousenvironmentsimulatingaboilingwaterreactor(BWR)isaddressedinthiswork.Thisconditionnecessitatesautoclaveexperimentsunderhighpressureandtemperature.
Long-termelectrochemicalnoisemeasurementswereexploredasameantodetectandmonitorstresscorrosioncrackingphenomenon.Anexperimentalsetup,designedtoinsulatetheworkingelectrodefromexternalinterference,madepossibletodetectandmonitorstresscorrosioncrackinginslowstrainratetestsforsensitizedandsolutionannealed304stainlesssteelat288°C.Time-seriesanalysisshowedvariationsinthesignatureofthecurrentdensityseriesduetotransgranularstresscorrosioncracking(TGSCC)andintergranularstresscorrosioncracking(IGSCC).
