Abstract :
Inthisstudy,theproblemofextrapolatedendpointhasbeenstudiedinone-speedneutrontransportequationwithisotropicscatteringbyusingtheChebyshevpolynomialapproximationwhichiscalledTNmethod.Assumingneutronsofonespeed,extrapolatedendpointarecalculatedfortheuniformfiniteslabusingMarkandMarshaktypevacuumboundaryconditions.ItisshownthatloworderTNmethodgivesverygoodresultsoflowordersphericalharmonicsapproximationanddiffusiontheoryforextrapolationofthefluxofneutronsleakingfromthemedium.WepresentanalternativemethodwhichissimilartoP1methodtocalculatetheextrapolationdistancesz0.Moreover,weprefernewsolutionoftransportequationinone-dimensionalslabgeometry.
