Abstract :
Wallthinningduetoflow-acceleratedcorrosion(FAC)isapervasiveformofdegradationinfeederpipesoftheprimaryheattransportsystemofCANDUreactors.Predictionoftheend-of-lifeofafeederfromwallthicknessmeasurementdataisconfoundedbythesamplingandtemporaluncertaintiesassociatedwiththeFACdegradationphenomenon.ThispaperpresentsaprobabilisticmodelofwallthinningduetoFAC,andcalibratesitwithasetoffeederwallthicknessmeasurementsobtainedfromaCANDUplant.Theproposedmodelderivesthefeederlifetimedistribution,whichisusefulindevelopingoptimumstrategiesforlife-cyclemanagementofthefeedersystem.
