Abstract :
Somecontributionshavebeenstatedinordertoimprovethemodelingofconcurrentdownflowcondensationinpresenceofnon-condensablesinsideverticaltubes.Inparticular,theinfluenceofnon-condensablesovertheliquidsideheattransferhasbeenconsidered.Thenewproposedmechanisticmodelssolveexplicitlytherealinterfacetemperaturebymeansofacubicorafourthorderequation.Asthesemodelshaveanon-iterativenature,theycanavoidtheweakestpointofthetraditionalmechanisticmodels,whichistheslowdowncomputationifthemodelhadtobeimplementedinacode.Moreover,asthemainnon-condensableseffectscanbeaccountedforintheheatandmasstransferprocesses,thenewmodelswillbemorerealistic.ThemodelshavebeenvalidatedwiththeVierowexperimentaldata,obtainingatotalaveragerelativeerror,forthefourthorderequationmethodmodel,of21%for268points.
