  • Abstract
    Inthedesignassessmentoffastreactorplantcomponents,preventionofcrackinitiationfromdefect-freestructuresisamainconcern.However,existenceofinitialdefectssuchaswelddefectscannotbeentirelyexcludedandthispotentialcracksaretobeevaluatedtodetermineifinitiatedcracksdonotleadtocomponentfailureinstantly.Therefore,evaluationofstructuralintegrityinthepresenceofcrack-likedefectsisalsoimportanttocomplementtheformaldesignassessment.Theauthorshavebeendevelopingaguidelineforassessinglong-termstructuralintegrityoffastreactorcomponentsusingdetailedinelasticanalysisandnonlinearfracturemechanics.Thisguidelineconsistsoftwoparts,evaluationofdefect-freestructuresandflawevaluation.Inthelatter,creep-fatigueisconsideredtobeoneofthemostessentialdrivingforceforcrackpropagationathighoperatingtemperatureexceeding500°C.TheusesofJ-integral-typeparameters(fatigueJ-integralrangeandcreepJ-integral)arerecommendedtodescribecreep-fatiguecrackpropagationbehaviorintheguideline.Thispapergivesanoutlineofthesimplifiedevaluationmethodforcreep-fatiguecrackpropagation.
