  • Abstract
    InthisstudyaCFDsimulationofahorizontalheaterrodstest(CS28-2)hasbeenperformedwiththeCFX-10codeandithasbeencomparedwithanexperimentinordertodevelopapost-blowdownmodelingofaCANDUfuelchannelduringalargebreaklossofcoolantaccident(LBLOCA).TheCS28-2experimentisoneofthreeseriesofexperimentstosimulatethefuelchannelatahightemperatureandalowsteamflowratewhichmayoccurinsevereaccidentconditionssuchasaLBLOCAofCANDUreactors.SinceradiationheattransferisdominantintheCS28-2experiment,abenchmarkproblemofradiationheattransferforthesamegeometryastheCS28-2iscarriedoutfirsttoassesstheradiationmodelbyCFX-10,toconfirmwhetherCFX-10canbeappliedtoacomplexfuelgeometryornot.And,theCFDstudyoftheCS28-2hasbeenperformedwiththeaimtosimulatethesteady-stateconditionoftheCS28-2.Thesesteady-statecalculationresultswillbeusedfortheinitialconditionsofthetransientsimulation.
