Abstract :
Fortheinvestigationofstratifiedtwo-phaseflow,twohorizontalchannelswithrectangularcross-sectionwerebuiltatForschungszentrumDresden-Rossendorf(FZD).Thechannelsallowtheinvestigationofair/waterco-currentflows,especiallytheslugbehaviour,atatmosphericpressureandroomtemperature.Thetest-sectionsaremadeofacrylicglass,sothatopticaltechniques,likehigh-speedvideoobservationorparticleimagevelocimetry(PIV),canbeappliedformeasurements.Therectangularcross-sectionwaschosentoprovidebetterobservationpossibilities.Moreover,dynamicpressuremeasurementswereperformedandsynchronisedwiththehigh-speedcamerasystem.
