Abstract :
Thepresentpaperdealswiththedynamicanalysisofasteamgeneratortubebundlewithfluid–structureinteractionmodelling.Asthecoupledfluid–structureprobleminvolvesahugenumberofdegreesoffreedomtoaccountforthetubedisplacementsandthefluidpressureevolutions,classicalcoupledmethodcannotbeappliedforindustrialstudies.Inthepresentcase,thethree-dimensionalfluid–structureproblemissolvedwithanhomogenisationmethod,whichhasbeenpreviouslyexposedandsuccessfullyvalidatedforFSImodellinginanuclearreactor[Sigrist,J.F.,Broc,D.,2007a.Homogenisationmethodforthemodalanalysisofanuclearreactorwithinternalstructuresmodellingandfluid–structureinteractioncoupling.NuclearEngineeringandDesign237,431–440].Formulationofthehomogenisationmethodforgeneraltwo-andthree-dimensionalcasesisexposedinthepaper.Applicationtoasimplified,howeverrepresentative,modelofanactualindustrialnuclearcomponent(steamgenerator)isproposed.Theproblemmodelling,whichincludestubebundle,primaryandsecondaryfluidsandpressurevessel,isperformedwithanengineeringfiniteelementcodeinwhichthehomogenisationtechniquehasbeenimplemented.Fromthepracticalpointofview,theanalysishighlightsthemajorfluid–structureinteractioneffectsonthedynamicbehaviourofthesteamgenerator;fromthetheoreticalpointofview,thestudydemonstratestheefficiencyofthehomogenisationmethodforperiodicfluid–structureproblemsmodellinginindustrialconfigurations.
