Abstract :
Thefissionproduct(FP)behaviourinPHEBUSFPT0(freshfuelrods)andFPT1(irradiatedfuel)in-pileexperimentsisinterpreted.ThemainexperimentalresultsinFPT0andFPT1arefirstsummarized,andtheFPreleaseratesmeasuredinbothtestsarereportedandrelatedtodegradationevents.Theinterpretationisperformedintwosteps.First,usinggeneralknowledgefromtheopenliteratureandfrompreviousinterpretationsofVERCORSanalyticalexperiments,aqualitativedescriptionofthepossiblebehaviouroffissiongases,Cs,MoandBaisgivenbyconsideringonlyintactfuelgeometry.ThisinterpretationisillustratedbycalculationsperformedwiththemechanisticMFPRcode.Then,inasecondstep,possibleeffectsoffueldissolution,foamingandinteractionswithstructuralmaterialsareconsidered.
