Abstract :
Insituorlaboratoryexperimentshaveshownthatpipingsystemsexhibitsatisfactoryseismicbehavior.Seismicmotionisnotsevereenoughtosignificantlydamagepipingsystemsunlesslargedifferentialmotionsofanchorageareimposed.Nevertheless,presentdesigncriteriaforpipingareverysevereandrequirealargenumberofsupports,whichcreatesoverlyrigidpipingsystems.CEA,incollaborationwithEDF,FRAMATOMEandIRSN,haslaunchedalargeR&Dprogramonenhanceddesignmethodswhichwillbelesssevere,butstillconservative,andcompatiblewithdefectjustificationduringoperation.ThispaperpresentsthebackgroundoftheR&Dworkonthismatter,andCEAproposedequations.
