Abstract :
ThispaperprovidesacomparisonbetweentherealplantdataobtainedbyUnit6ofKozloduynuclearpowerplant(NPP)duringtheloss-of-feedwater(LOFW)transientandthecalculationresultsreceivedbyRELAP5/MOD3.2computermodelofthesameNPPunit. RELAP5/MOD3.2computermodeloftheVVER-1000hasbeendevelopedattheInstituteforNuclearResearchandNuclearEnergy-BulgarianAcademyofSciences(INRNE-BAS)basedonUnit6ofKozloduyNPP.ThismodelhasbeenusedforsimulationthebehavioroftherealVVER-1000NPPduringtheLOFWtransient.Severalcalculationshavebeenprovidedtodescribehowthedifferentboundaryconditionsreflectonthepredictionofrealplantparameters. Thispaperdiscussestheresultsofthethermal–hydraulicsensitivitycalculationsofloss-of-feedwatertransientforVVER-1000reactordesign.ThereportalsocontainsabriefsummaryofthemainNPPsystemsincludedintheRELAP5VVERmodelandtheLOFWtransientsequences. ThisreportwaspossiblethroughtheparticipationofleadingspecialistsfromKozloduyNPPandwiththeassistanceofArgonneNationalLaboratory(ANL)fortheUnitedStatesDepartmentofEnergy(USDOE),InternationalNuclearSafetyProgram(INSP).
