Abstract :
Thepurposeoftheexperimentalstudyistoinvestigatetheeffectsofpipeinclination,pipelength,pipediameterandsurfacetensionoftheworkingliquidontheonsetoffloodingofgas–liquidadiabaticcounter-currenttwo-phaseflowininclinedpipes.Floodingininclinedpipeswereobservedbyusingthecombinationofvisualobservation,measurementofdischargedliquidflowrateandtimevariationofliquidhold-up.Anditwasdefinedasthemaximumairflowrateatwhichthedischargedliquidflowrateisequaltotheinletliquidflowrate.Asaresultweproposedacorrelationtopredictthefloodinggasvelocityininclinedpipesunderagivenliquidflowrate,andthepredictionsagreedwellwiththeexperimentalobservations.
