Abstract :
ThispaperdescribestheactivitiesmadeatKAERItodevelopanadvancedliquidmetalreactor(LMR)steamgeneratorwhichisfreefromasodiumwaterreaction(SWR)toresolvetheconcernoftheSWRpossibilityandimprovetheeconomicfeaturesoftheLMR.Thesteamgeneratordesignhousestwotubebundlesthatarefunctionallydifferentanditstubebundleregionisradiallyorverticallydividedintotwo.TheSGisequippedwithhotandcoldfluidtubebundles,amediumfluidandapump.Itpreventstheoccurrenceofthesodiumwaterreactionwhilesodiumisstillusedasthecoolantfortheprimaryheattransportsystem.ThefeasibilityofusingtheSGwithadoubletubebundleforanactualuseinaLMRplantisevaluatedbysettinguptheskeletonoftheNSSSforvariouspossibleconfigurationsoftheSGtubebundles.
Analysiswasmadeforvarioustypesofthenewsteamgeneratorwithadoubletubebundle.SincetheheattransferintheSGismadeamongthreedifferentfluids,ithasuniqueheattransfercharacteristics.Theanalysisshowedthepossibilityoftheoccurrenceofanundesirablereversedheattransfernotonlyintheintegratedsingle-regionbundletypebutalsointheintegrateddouble-regionbundletype.Theperformanceanalysisrevealedpracticalperformancecharacteristicsforthevariousbundleconfigurations.AlsothefeasibilitystudyforthevariousNSSSconfigurationswiththenewSGisdescribed
