A Navier-Stokes problem with free boundary Original Research Article

We study the behaviour of an incompressible, viscous fluid, with a free boundary. We suppose that the fluid partially fills the interior of a rotating cylinder. We show the existence of a solution of the initial value problem on a small time interval, under some regularity and compatibility conditions.
