The derivation of the Laplace transform of a wet period in a finite dam via martingales Original Research Article

In this work, with only a martingale argument we derive the explicit formula for the Laplace transform of the busy period of a Poisson arrival queue with a single server, exponential inputs and bounded workload which is also called a finite dam. A direct and much simpler derivation is provided than appeared in the former literature.
