Abstract :
The fractal behaviour of multiplicity production in 400 GeV/c pp collisions is analyzed using the modified multifractal moments which are calculated from the experimental data and Monte Carlo events sample. The generalized dimensions Dq for q=2, 3, 4, 5 are determined. The multifractal character is observed. The linear relations between ln〈nq〉 and ln(δη) are tested, where n is the multiplicity in a single bin of width δη and the symbol 〈 〉 means averaging over all bins. The results indicated that it may be necessary to separate the dynamical effects from the statistical background in order to determine Dq from the slopes.
