Some interesting observations regarding factorial moments and generalised moments in intermittency analysis

A study of intermittency has been carried out within the framework of the α-cascade model using both scaled factorial as well as generalised moments. It has been found that, depending upon the multiplicity, the scaled factorial moments can sometimes lead to negative slopes when log Fq is plotted against − log δη. Compared to this the generalised moments Gq have been found to be unaffected by multiplicity.
