Abstract
We present a self-consistent calculation of nucleon and hyperon single-particle potentials for a system of nucleons and Λ hyperons of nonzero densities ϱn, ϱΛ using the Brueckner-Hartree-Fock approximation scheme. Fixing the nucleon density at ϱn = ϱ0 we find a minimum of the total binding energy per baryon at a finite ratio ϱΛϱn ≈ 0.1 and a corresponding gain of binding energy per baryon of about 0.4 MeV.
