A new description of the coupling between intrinsic and rotational motions in deformed nuclei

Conditions are found for the independence of rotational state energies in strongly deformed nuclei from the spurious motion of intrinsic axes. Taking into account these conditions we formulate a model of the quasiparticle-rotation coupling without an artificial Coriolis attenuation. The model is applied to rotational bands in 163Er and 167Yb.
