Abstract
The standard first-order inelstic correction (IC) well known in the pre-QCD era, causes a rising Q2-dependence of the nuclear transparency in the quasielastic electron scattering, A(e,e′p)A′, at moderate Q2, similar to what is supposed to be the onset of color transparency (CT). Although the IC is a part of the whole pattern of the CT, it contains no explicit QCD dynamics. The evaluation of this correction is based on experimental data on the diffraction dissociation and is independent of whether the CP phenomenon exists or not. The growth of the nuclear transparency is numerically comparable with the expected signal of the CT up to about Q2 ≈ 20 GeV2. The analogous effect in the A(p,2p)A′ reaction is estimated as well.
