Abstract :
The energy of the 5g-4f transition in pionic nitrogen was measured with a crystal spectrometer and a value for the pion mass of mπ−=(139.57071±0.00053) MeV/c2 was deduced. In addition an improved measurement of the fine structure splitting and the first determination of the hadronic shift and width of the 4p level in pionic nitrogen are presented.
