Abstract
The lifetimes of the lowest 1−, 3−, 5− and 7−states in 150Sm are measured in the (nth,γ) reaction with the GRID method. Above these up to spin J=18, B(E1) values are estimated from experimental B(E1)/B(E2) ratios. The E1 transition moments peak at J=5–7 and are lowest in the region 11≤ J≤15 where previous studies suggest enhanced octupole collectivity. Observed is a staggering of the E1 moments with odd and even J values.
