Abstract :
An exclusive study has been carried out of the 35 MeV/nucleon 6He+Au system. The core nucleus (or its products) and the halo neutron(s) were detected in coincidence, while the excitation energy of the target nucleus was inferred from the multiplicity of the evaporated neutrons. Comprehensive systematics of the characteristic widths of the core and the neutron parallel momentum distributions were established for a wide variety of reaction channels, demonstrating the influence of the reaction mechanism.
