Abstract :
An energy dependent phase-shift analysis of p+d elastic scattering below the deuteron breakup threshold has been conducted. The analysis indicates the existence of a singularity in the doublet S-wave effective range function, resulting in a very small value for the scattering length 2apd. The inferred value of the quartet S-wave scattering length 4apd is in good agreement with theoretical predictions.
