DC field control of decay processes in a (π+–π−)-atom: a possibility to measure the energy splitting between 2s- and 2p-states

The (π+–π−)-atom life-time dependence on a dc electric field is determined. The possibility is demonstrated to measure the 2s–2p energy splitting with the use of this dependence.
