Abstract :
A mathematical model on the basis of energy conservation principle for forced vibrations in a vertically hanging cantilever segmented by variation in its cross-sectional dimensions, configuration, attachments and material changes and excited by transverse orthogonal end concentrated forces is developed and a solution procedure with the help of a computer is presented in this work. The validation of complex algebraic expressions is carried out with simple uniform cantilever computation for two cases, one with a single segment and the other with a number of segments.
